英语罐头

还记得罐头菌几年前有一段时间非常丧，处于“失业”时期，同时还也没有足够的钱让我躺着不用工作，这时候我就会对自己说：I have neither job nor money.
neither nor，学英语时大概在中学的时候就会学到，罐头菌当时可是非常喜欢这个词组，因为用它组个句子又能凑字数，也能表明逻辑。不过相信熟悉它的小伙伴并不知道，这个词组的一些俚语也是会让完全摸不着头脑的。
1.neither here nor there 无关紧要
不是这里，也不是哪里？明确地说，这可不是用语表示地点方位的词组，而是一个管用的俚语。主要表示某个东西或者事情“并不重要，不是关键点“的意思。
Dinner half an hour earlier or later was neither here nor there.
早半小时或者晚半小时吃晚餐并不是什么大事情。
2.neither fish nor fowl 不伦不类
即不是鱼类，也不是禽类，中文翻译过来，就是我们常说的”不伦不类，不三不四“。可能两个都像，但结果来看两个都不是。
Graduate teaching assistants are neither fish nor fowl,neither completely students nor teachers.
大学生助教确实有点不三不四，既不是学生，也不是教师。
3.neither one thing nor the other 四不像
其实可以看出来，neither one thing nor the other与上面的neither fish nor fowl其实是近义词，都是同样的意思，都表示”不三不四“。
I prefer a book to be either fact or fiction - this one is neither one thing nor the other!
我喜欢的书要么写实，要么虚构——这本书却是个四不像！

（1）neither nor 既不...也不
Most of them neither know nor care how it works.
他们大部分人及不知道也不关心这如何运作。
（2）either or 不是...就是
She’s the kind of person you either love or hate.
她是那种你有可能喜欢也有可能讨厌的人。
（3）both and 两者都
He’s lived in both Britain and America.
