就近一致原则
就近一致原则，即:谓语与靠近的名词、代词(有时不一定是主语)在"人称、数"上一致。与其相对的为"就远原则"。
由下列词语连接的并列主语: 都使用就近原则确定谓语动词的单复数.
例句:
1 .Neither you nor I am wrong .
你和我都没错。
2 .Not you but your father is to blame.
不是你，而是你的父亲该受责备。
3 Not only Lihua likes the beautiful lake but also Lucy enjoys it during today’s picnitic.
不但李华而且露西都喜欢今天郊游中遇到的这美丽的湖泊。
4 We don’t know whether the bigger one or the smaller is suit for us .我们不知道是这个大点的还是小些的那个适合我们。
5 AS for, those who write A or that who writes C is right hasn’t clear so far .
至于是那些答案是A还是答案B的 正确，现在为止还不是很清楚。
6 Today is fine . We either go to the park or swim in the pool 。
今天天气晴朗。我们要么去公园，要么去游泳。
7 Either you or one of your students has to attend the meeting .
要么你，要么你学生中的一个不得不参加这个会议。
就远原则
谓语动词与前面主语一致，不是紧挨着他的主语保持数的一致。
常见的有这些短语：

1 Mr Green, together with his 20 sudents visits Big Ben which is located in London today .
格林先生和他的20个学生今天一起，参观了位于伦敦的大本钟。
2 Beijing as well as other big cities have a large population.
北京和其他大城市一样拥有较多的人口。
3 Weihua likes English as well as music.
魏华喜欢英语也喜欢音乐。
4 The one who can gets the first place is up to his good deeds rather than his father is somebody.
那个可以获得第一名的人取决于他的良好表现而不是因为他的父亲是某个大人物。
5 The little girl can anwer all the questions apart from the one which is about science .
这个小女孩回答了所有除了和科学有关的问题、
6Ten members including myself ere present at the meeting .
